This assignment requires you to create a comprehensive glossary of key terms used in the field of logo/graphic design. The purpose of this assignment is to ensure you have a strong foundational vocabulary to discuss, critique, and create professional logos.
Assignment Details
- Task: Create a glossary of terms
(minimum of 3 per class + other indicated terms if asked) - Format: The glossary should be a digital document (e.g., PDF, Word document, or a web page). It should be clearly organized, easy to read, and professionally presented.
- Content: For each term, you must include:
- The Term: The word or phrase itself (e.g., “Logotype”).
- A Clear Definition: A concise and accurate explanation of the term in your own words. Avoid copying and pasting definitions from the internet.
- An Example: In your own words or using a visual example that illustrates the term – effectively communicate the definition.

Term: Logotype (or Wordmark)
Definition: A logo that consists of a stylized word, phrase, or company name, where the text itself acts as the primary visual element. The typography is customized to be unique and memorable.
Example: The Google logo is a classic example of a logotype. The brand is instantly recognizable just by the unique font and colors of its name.
