Logo Analysis

Select a logos to analyze. The analysis involves understanding why a logo looks the way it does and what makes it successful, which can help in understanding how design and business work together.

For the logo you selected, you will need to address the following points:

  • The Company:
    • Identify the company and its logo
    • Describe what the company does
  • Deconstruct the logo:
    • Symbol: Is there a picture or symbol in the logo? If so, what does it look like?
      (e.g., a checkmark, a swoosh, an apple).
    • Words: What font is used? Does it look friendly, serious, or modern?
    • Color: What colors are used, and what feelings do they evoke?
(e.g., red for energy, blue for trust).
  • Evaluating Effectiveness: Use the following criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the logo:
    • Simplicity & Memorability: Is it simple and easy to remember?
    • Uniqueness: Is it unique and does it stand out from other logos in the same industry?
    • Relevance: Does the design make sense and fit the company and what it sells?
    • Versatility: Does it look good in both small and large formats (e.g., on a phone vs. a billboard)?
    • Timelessness: Will it last and still look good in 10 or 20 years, or does it follow a current trend?
